THE XISTIS STORY
A PUBLISHER WITH A MISSION
Nascent Success for an Emerging Art Publisher
Xistis Press began in 2004 as a virtual literary journal and indie press. We have steadily grown into a multi-media art house. Xistis Press seeks out the artists - contemporary and historical - whose nuanced, supersalient works of art escape the sweep of the common canonist, yet whose oeuvre elevates the standard.
Xistis Press relies on an international pool of talented artists, photographers, designers, editors and brokers.
Every one of our authors receives the attention they deserve to make sure their work turns out polished and perfect. We work with our writers every step of the way on their journey, helping to bring out the most from their work. From an idea and rough draft, to editing and publication, Xistis Press helps our authors produce high-quality, interesting, and entertaining books.
THE TALENT
Proudly Introducing
OUR AUTHORS & ARTISTS
WALTER NELSON
Non-fiction
Historian and re-enactor, dance doyen and Hollywood period consultant - Walter Nelson has cultivated a vibrant living history scene as Master of Ceremony in LA's Art Deco community.
AARON HOWDLE
Illustration
The fabled imagination of Aaron Howdle has come to life in his illustrations for his upcoming first children's book, "The Cloudtop Archipelago." We feature beautiful prints from this steampunk fantasia.
LARRY DEWHIRST
Fine Art
To describe the oeuvre of Larry Dewhirst, one would recall Flannery O'Connor, Francis Bacon and De Kooning. Images at once intuited as masterful, upon closer examination reveal distant, abstract landscapes, encaustic layerings and elliptical double-entendres.
ROBERT SCOTT GILSON
Architectural Illustration
San Francisco based architect, Robert Scott Gilson's thesis project at the UCLA features a series of illustrations of a futuristic penal colony suspended above the LA reservoir for environmental felons, who serve time in floating cells suspended above arid salt flats of the former reservoir.
